Papers And Procrastination

I've been MIA for the past two weeks working on a research paper for class.
I started the research the same week the class was told of the assignment
(about a month ago).

I wasn't having a very much success finding relevant information, so I just decided to leave it for a bit and focus on current assignments.

A month later, just a few days before the paper was due, I'm fumbling all over the place still trying to find sources...
Long story short: I ended up completing the paper the day it was due
Moral of the story: don't procrastinate in doing papers

God's Word!

Philippians 4:13 (NET)

"I am able to do all things through the One [Jesus Christ] who strengthens me."

I am using this verse as motivation and encouragement for my midterm/final exam (pt. 1) tomorrow!

I hope you use it for whatever is making you feel frustrated, defeated, or discouraged!

God Bless you!

Jesus Loves You! Do You Love Him Too?

Jesus loves us so much! But it is not His love for us that will get us into heaven, it is our love for Him!

He died on the cross to save the human race from a well deserved punishment in hell!

He suffered and died for a people that would still not love Him! That's real love!

So, do you love Him too? :)

God Bless!

God's Word!

Acts 2: 28

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized everyone on of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins, and ye shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost."

When one has come to the realization that one is a sinner (have been living a life contrary to what God says) the next step is to repent of those sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ! Then recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost!
Becoming a Christian isn't about going through rituals...it is simply making the decision to turn away from living sinfully and showing that by choosing to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ!
I love it! I love Jesus!

Do you love Him too? :)

Sunday's Outfit

This is what I wore to church today.

Excuse the blurry pictures
This a long top that I tucked in. It's a sheer material, so I wore a black tank top beneath.

Very long skirt...I love the way it fits.

I was a pretty cute outfit.

I have never liked long skirts(maybe because of the kinds I wore), but now that I'm finding more that fits me pretty good...I'm starting to change my mind about them.

A Season Later

The last time I blogged it was summer. Now, the streets are covered with beautiful colors and the trees are getting bare.

Once again, it wasn't my intention. It gets away from me. I know won't be winning any "Best Blogger" awards, haha...but that's not why I blog anyway.

I will try to blog at least once a week!
God Bless! :)

"Battlefield Of The Mind" by Joyce Meyer - Excellent Book!

Hey Readers,
Today I want to introduce some of you to a very good book! It is the updated version of Joyce Meyer's "Battlefield Of The Mind"

I finished reading this book today and I can honestly say that I have learned so much from this book. In this book she focuses on the mind.

I know that the mind is very important, which is which I am studying Psychology. I was eager to read this book because I wanted to know what she had to say about the mind from a Christian perspective.

I am so happy to say that this is a book that I will be revising often throughout my Christian life. It helps to keep me in check, by comparing my thoughts with the kind of thoughts that the Lord says I should have.

I don't want to give out much details, because I want you to go out and read the book.
Meyer wrote the book in three parts.
Part 1: The importance of the mind
Part 2: Conditions of the mind
Part 3: Wildernesses Mentalities

Each part includes chapters that goes indeapt concerning the theme of that part.

You should definitely read this book, if you are trying to live a life for God and find that your thoughts cause you to feel certain ways that are ungodly. Also if your thoughts stop you from being all that the Lord wants you to be -- read this book.
Meyer includes many scriptures references throughout the book that you can study, as well!

Anyone who have read this book, please share your thoughts and feeling about it.

God Bless You!!!

Women's Retreat and Conference 2011

Hey Lovelies,

I am back from the women's retreat and conference, hosted by my church, Zion Apostolic church. Last year's theme was "Back to the basics" and this year's theme was "Walking according to your purpose"

Just like Women's retreat 2010, we stayed at DoubleTree Resort in Pennsylvania. It is very beautiful over there.

Golf Court- We walked around the golf court each morning for our prayer walk

 A view of the lobby

This is the chapel where we had a couple of our services. The other services we held at one of the business rooms in the hotel.

The presence of the Lord was definately at the retreat with us! It was spectular, wonderful and manificent.

May the Lord bless you!! :)

I am so excited to be attending again this year! I know that I will be blessed, as a result. I will post about my experience again when I get back.

God's Word!

Romans 8:37 (KJV)
"Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us."

I hope this verse encourages someone to understand we are MORE THAN conquerors throught Jesus!

Regardless of what you're going through, understand that!

So, coming soon, I will be reviewing this awesome book.

Re-reading Romans

Hey, fellow Jesus lovers

I finished the book of Romans a few days ago.

However, I decided to read it over again. I felt like I didn't get as deep into it as I could have.

I been seeing a lot of verses that I loved from Romans (especially chapter 8) and I felt ashamed that I couldn't recall reading that.
SO this time around I am going to dive deeper into it.

God Bless you all!

Since I've Been Gone...

I would like to once again apoligize, to those that actually read this blog.

I've been taking time to live my life. Next time I need to take a break from the internet, I'll try to say ahead of time.

I hope all of you have been staying strong in your faith.

Since I've been gone:
1. I'm now in the book of Romans in 'reading through the new testament for 2011'
2. I have had a couple days of 'ignoring' God. Where praying and reading my Bible and come in second and third to other things. However, God, like He always does, has sent someone to get me back on track.
I am so in love with Jesus! His love for me is overwhelming and I am so grateful for His mercy!

God Bless!

Done With John

I have completed the book of John! :-)

I will start the book of Acts, chapter 1 tomorrow, May 1st. Love it.

By reading through the new testament, I Have learned things I didn't know.

It's always good to skip around the bible and read different chapters, but it's really good to read the books right after the other as well.
I'm learning a lot more.

...till next time,
God Bless!

My Prayers Going Out To The South

If you didn't hear about the tornados that hit southeastern states like Alabama and Georgia, you can see Yahoo's coverage of it here

My family lives in Georgia, and I'm still here with them right now, and thank God we were not hurt in the storm.

It's said that over 200 lost their lives in the disaster and others who lost their homes and businesses.

I am praying that God give families strength and and comfort in dealing with this disaster.

Done With Luke

I finished the book of Luke about two weeks ago and I am now on John chapter 15.

I want to be able to read God's word and understand what God's saying. I like having those "ohhh" and "hmmm" and "wow" moments when I read the Bible.

I try to read 2 to 4 chapters a day, so by the time December comes around I'm done with Revelation.

...till next time,
God bless

Giving God My All!!!

During the past week, I've been working on growing closer to God and experiencing his presence more! It is such a wonderful thing!

I've been working on giving God my ALL!
Holding back nothing for my pleasure and comfort. Otherwise I don't think I'm really pleasing God.
Lukewarm Christianity isn't for me!

Dedicating everything that I am to Jesus and making Him NUMBER ONE in my life is my main focus from here on out.
Otherwise my living would be in vain.

God's Word!

Luke 17:6 (NIV)

He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you."

How small is a mustard seed?

I Don't Want To Look Like Her

'Her' meaning the next Christian Woman.

I believe that Christian women should look modest-- not showing off their bodies or putting themselves in any spotlight-- but I don't think that modesty only has one look.

It is possible to look modest and decent without having to look like the woman next to you in Church, right?

I sure think so!

Done With Mark

OK, so I'm still behind on my reading...but I'm happy that I'm finished with the book of Mark.

Now, I have to write what I know/understand, just like I would if I was studying for a test.

I'm also still working on having my Bible-reading sessions be something that I take pleasure in, instead of something that needs to be done.

I do enjoy reading my Bible, but there are times (like when I'm rushing to read it because of time) that I do it as something on my to-do list.

I am still a work in progress -- noting my faults and working to improve them is part of the 'progress' :)

Until next time,
God Bless!

Jesus Is Peace

I love this:

Know Jesus, know peace
No Jesus, no peace

:)

This Is The Day The Lord Has Made

Today was a beautiful day!

It was 78 degrees and sunny -- with no clouds in the sky today!

Today at church, the pastor preached on the book of Numbers 14: 1-9, when the Lord delivered the children of Israel of the land of Egypt.

He got them out of Pharaoh's hand and they were still complaining.

This reminds me of people, including myself, who complain of minor things even after God has delivered them out of a big problem.

Lord, please help me to know that my life is a work in progress and that you have a plan for me. Help me to keep my eyes on you instead of issues in my life.

I'm In Love With A Canine!

Yup! This handsome guy right here stole my heart!
This dog is like no other dog! He is so loving and happy and considerate. Which is why it's so sad that he's not feeling too well -- but he's a trooper! Another reason why I love him.

He belongs to a relative of mine and having him around makes me so happy. No matter what other dog may come after him, I could never forget him!

I am a huge animal lover! The first four legged little one I feel in love with was my kitty, snowbell(named after the cat in Stuart Little)

This cat was [had to bring her to a shelter because of a move :( ] the most adorable animal ever. She was so beautiful and friendly.

Once she decided that she liked you, that would be it, she would make sure you knew she liked you.
I know she's probably gone now, but she will always be my favorite cat!

I have a huge soft spot for animals -- a lot of people find it weird, but I never cared because animals don't judge...people do.

Until next time,
God Bless.

God's Word!

Mark 9:24 (NET)

"Immediately the father of the boy cried out and said, 'I believe; help my unbelief'."

This scripture comes from the man who asked Jesus, if He is able to do anything, please heal his son (of demonic possession).

He didn't really believe that Jesus could do everything, hence the if. I sometimes feel like this man...certain situation seem so big and impossible in my eyes, that I find myself thinking if, when it come to Jesus being my deliverer.

Lord, please forgive me and help my unbelief!

Spring Is So Bitter-Sweet...

...Especially if you have allergies.

I love the beautiful budding flowers, and the warm-ish weather, but I hate sneezing every morning!

Nothing good come easy...applies to everything in life!

Until next time,
God Bless!

Finally Back

I want to apologize to those who read my blog.
It was not my intention to abandon it for 2 months. But, you know...yea.

Anyway, I'm back and I'm gonna try to stay 'back'

What's been going on

1. So, I completely slacked off on my 'Reading the New Testament through 2011' (I think I read like 5 chapters [if not less] a month-- yes, I am ashamed)

2. I've been reading like it's my day job (since I'm on vacation from school [did I mention that?] I have a little more time to read. Which means, I have been choosing to not read my Bible on certain days-- more shame)

3. Loving the G.A weather (I'm still in Georgia, and though not currently, the weather has been awesome, I feel like I've missed out on winter-- love it)

All in all, I've been busy, but I have made time to enjoy life's short but precious moments.
Hope you've been doing the same.

'till next time,
God Bless!

I Can Be So Hardheaded Sometimes

Hey Guys,

As part of a Bible study that I do a few times a week, I read This Devotional on Our Daily Bread's website and it opened my eyes to something I have already realized multiple times!

I know that I can "cast my burdens on Him" and that there's no need to keep wallowing in my sorrow, but I keep ignoring this fact.

The times when life feels extra crappy are usually the times when I have drifted from the presence of God. If in his presence is where we find peace, then when we excuse ourselves from His presence...of course we're going to be worried and feel overwhelmed all the time!

I need to get and once and for all keep this in my spirit. Once I start feeling like life is getting to much to take, I need to "lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord which made Heaven and Earth" (Psalm 121:1-2)

God's Word!

Matthew 4:4
"But he answered and said It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God".

I like this scripture because to me it seems to say that people not only need food to live, but also the word of God, without it we will die.

New Testament in 2011

Okay, so I have been going pretty slow lately. But I am trying to catch up. Although I'm already reading the book of Mark, I'm pretty slow with my review of Matthew. So, here's my review of Matthew chapter 2.

Matthew 2 :

~The wise men from Jerusalem heard about Jesus' birth and they were looking for Him to worship Him. But when Herod the king, heard about it, he was troubled. He told the wise men to go and look for Jesus, so he could worship Him too.

~When the wise men found Jesus, they were warned by a dream that they should not go back to tell Herod. Then an angel appeared to Joseph and told him to leave Egypt because Herod was looking for Jesus to kill him.

Strict Structure In Church: Good Or Bad?

I like order in church. I like it when everyone's sitting and paying attention and no one's having side conversations.

However, I think that there can be too much structure in some churches! Like when people read prayers or tell the congregation when to clap or what to say... at that point I think it's all for show and not for God.

I think prayers should come from the heart and not a piece of paper. That's just my opinion.

Being In Your Right Mind Is A Miracle

Matthew to Revelation In Jan To Dec: Matthew 1

Hey Guys,

Like I brifely mentioned in a previous post, I will (along with my church) will be reading the New Testament, Matthew to Relevation this year.

I started January 1 and I finished the book of Matthew on the 24th, but I will be going over each chapter again and writing what I got or understood from each Chapter.

My brief understanding of Matthew 1:
- Matthew 1 starts off with the Lineage of Jesus Christ. It starts with Abraham who had Isaac and goes all the way down to Jacob who had Joseph, who became Mary's (Jesus' mother) husband.

- When Joseph heard that Mary was pregnant, he thought that she had been unfaithful and wanted to leave her. It wasn't until an angel of the Lord came and told him that Mary was pregnant with a child of the Holy Spirit and that His name will be called Jesus!

I could only imagine how Joseph was feeling around this time. First he finds out that his fiancee` was pregnant and it sure wasn't by him! And then to be told that it was a child of the Holy Spirit! That's a lot to take in.

God Bless!

God's Word!

Matthew 21: 22 (KJV)

"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

Faith. It is so very important when it comes to being a Christian. The Bible says, without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6).
I believe that if I pray believing that my God is prayer answering God, according to His word I will receive it!

Spirit-Lifting Songs -- "He Wants It All"

Hey Guys,

If you haven't as yet, you should really go and listen to Forever Jones' song, He Wants It All on YouTube.

This song speaks to the heart! It is really inspiring and spirit-lifting! This is the kind of song that really makes you want to change your life and get closer to God.
Check it out!

Making Time For Him-- Why Does It Seem So Hard?

It's been somewhat of a New Years resolution to learn more about God's Word. I don't like the feeling of reading my Bible to be like a chore that needs to be done and it's been feeling like that a lot since i'm reading through the New Testament this year, so a few chapters a day.

I tend to have my 'Bible reading sessions' as a checklist-- something to do and get out the way-- and this isn't helping me or pleasing God!

I'm working on setting aside an hour everyday to read and study the Bible. I really want this to work out as planned, because there is nothing I want more that to get closer and closer to God!

GOD BLESS!

Happy 2011

First of all, Happy New Year to my readers...although I'm like 16 days late.

It's been nearly a month since I updated the blog. I'm not going to state excuses or anything, it's just that life happened.

I'm downsouth, in the beautiful state of Georgia and I'll be here for a while. It's really nice down here. It's probably about my 5th visit.

Anyway, things are still busy in my life, but I'm going to try and update reguarly regardless. In the meantime...enjoy your life, it's already 2011! Make the best of the time God has given you!

~GOD BLESS!
