Green Skies

I'm about to go to bed, but  decided to mark the blog before I rest my head.

The title is in reference to an example my social science professor used when describing what it is scientist do and how they go about doing it. I won't go into that. I just thought it made for a nice blog post title.

Also mentioned in my SS class is the fact that we, the students, are going to be discussing controversial topics such as politics, social class, education, and religion, to name a few. When I heard that religion was among the lists of topics up for discussion, I immediately knew I was going to have to defend my position as a Christian.

Time to hit the Bible. :-)

Enjoy your day and remember we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us.

Hello, I'm Here For The Position Of Time Manager

Via
Is time management a real career option? It should be. It's hard work.

I have a hard time assigning everything to a time and sticking to it. If I begin to feel overwhelmed with a certain task currently at hand. I choose flight over fight. I pretty sure I'm using this method out of context, but it seems as though I want to run away and do something less stressful and demanding (like blogging) until I can get myself together and get back to work.

It sounds normal. As I re-read everything that I wrote, I'm thinking well, that's a pretty normal thing to do.

Anyway, I need to better manage my time. I have seen how well things go when everything is done within it's time slot. I can sleep well at night knowing that I've had a pretty productive day. I'll have to get back to that; I'm only getting older.
I've been trying to become more productive ever since someone pointed out Proverbs 6: 6 to me. It reads, Go to the ant, you sluggard; observe it's ways and be wise. I felt insulted at first (obviously, right?) but then I realized that was something that I truly needed to hear. I still don't wake 5am every morning and have a productive hour until 10pm when I got to bed to do it all again, but I'm working on my own ways of being productive.

I hope you will too.
Enjoy your day and remember to be wise

All's Well...

I have been away from the 'blogosphere' for quite some time. I apologize to anyone who  came along expecting to see a new post.

I had a fantastic summer with my family and I fully enjoyed life for those two months. I admit, that like many other kids out there, I was disappointed to see my summer take it's departure. I take courage knowing that it will return next year, God willing.

I am ready for this fall and all that it has to bring. I started classes today and I will (sadly) pack away my t-shirts and flip-flops to pick up boots and books. I find that things go a lot smoother when you simply wrap your mind around it, remembering why it needs to be done and what will come of it.
I read a quote on Facebook today that read, "You can be who you choose to be. It's an act of discipline, but it can be done." I have resolved that I will work to a point where I can be pleased with my efforts to do what needs to be done. There is nothing that I can't do when God is on my side (Phil. 4:13).

Summer is just about over and it feels like it's talking a piece of me with it, for more reasons that the obvious. I'm happy though, knowing that all's well that ends well. I'm ready for whatever is ahead.

Enjoy your day and may the joy of the Lord be your strength!

Just a Word...

Just a quick message from God's word...

"Whoever believes in me as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'" -John 7:38 (ESV Version)

Life Gets You Busy

I've been pretty busy lately- though not only with "work"-related things.
There was many times when I was busy having fun with my family and friends.
And so blogging took a back seat. I like to blog, but I won't sacrifice precious moments for it - neither will anyone, for that matter.

What's new?

-Well, I've been reading The Great Gatsby! Still on chapter 3- even though I started reading it in December. A great shame.
It was suggested by my old English professor to read some great works of literature and Gatsby was on his list, so I embarked on the journey.

-I received an awesome (and cute) Bible in the mail today. I was on www.crosswalk.com a couple of months ago and clicked on a link to sign up for a free Bible by Youth For Christ. I already have one but I figured why not...it's a free Bible! Weeks later, already forgotten about, it came as quite a surprise!
I tried to take a picture, but it came out terrible. So instead I'll grab my camera and do a little review on it as soon as I can.

You can check out either http://www.yfc.org or http://www.crosswalk.com/ to see if you can order a free copy. Like I said before, I ordered this months ago so the free Bibles might have been a limited promotion or something. I wish I told my friends and family about it when I discovered it, but I took it lightly.

Until next time, Enjoy your day and God bless!
