I Can Be So Hardheaded Sometimes

Hey Guys,

As part of a Bible study that I do a few times a week, I read This Devotional on Our Daily Bread's website and it opened my eyes to something I have already realized multiple times!

I know that I can "cast my burdens on Him" and that there's no need to keep wallowing in my sorrow, but I keep ignoring this fact.

The times when life feels extra crappy are usually the times when I have drifted from the presence of God. If in his presence is where we find peace, then when we excuse ourselves from His presence...of course we're going to be worried and feel overwhelmed all the time!

I need to get and once and for all keep this in my spirit. Once I start feeling like life is getting to much to take, I need to "lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord which made Heaven and Earth" (Psalm 121:1-2)

God's Word!

Matthew 4:4
"But he answered and said It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God".

I like this scripture because to me it seems to say that people not only need food to live, but also the word of God, without it we will die.

New Testament in 2011

Okay, so I have been going pretty slow lately. But I am trying to catch up. Although I'm already reading the book of Mark, I'm pretty slow with my review of Matthew. So, here's my review of Matthew chapter 2.

Matthew 2 :

~The wise men from Jerusalem heard about Jesus' birth and they were looking for Him to worship Him. But when Herod the king, heard about it, he was troubled. He told the wise men to go and look for Jesus, so he could worship Him too.

~When the wise men found Jesus, they were warned by a dream that they should not go back to tell Herod. Then an angel appeared to Joseph and told him to leave Egypt because Herod was looking for Jesus to kill him.

Strict Structure In Church: Good Or Bad?

I like order in church. I like it when everyone's sitting and paying attention and no one's having side conversations.

However, I think that there can be too much structure in some churches! Like when people read prayers or tell the congregation when to clap or what to say... at that point I think it's all for show and not for God.

I think prayers should come from the heart and not a piece of paper. That's just my opinion.

~God Bless
